For the best choice of appointment times or if you want to see a particular clinician, please book ahead. Appointments can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance. We do have some slots available on the day for urgent or unexpected medical problems which are bookable as soon as the surgery opens but these do book very quickly. There is a GP on call every day who is available for medically urgent problems in the afternoon.
Appointments can be booked in person, over the phone or via on-line access. We are unable to book appointments via email or text. Please speak to any team member who will be able to register you to use our online booking service.
Please note that an appointment is for one person only. Each member of a family will need a separate appointment slot.
We ask that a 10 minute slot is used to discuss one issue so that we can give you the right amount of time and care. If you need more time with your GP for more than one concern, please ask for a double-appointment.
We offer the following appointments:
On-the-day appointments: for urgent or unexpected medical problems.
Pre-bookable appointments: Available up to 3 weeks in advance.
Home Visits: Only for patients who are house-bound and unable to attend the surgery. Please help us by requesting a visit before 10.00am if at all possible, and by describing symptoms to the receptionist so that the doctor may assess the degree of urgency. A doctor may telephone you to discuss your needs in more detail.
Telephone calls: A GP may be able to call you if you do not feel that you need to see someone in person. The call back could be within the next 48 hours depending on the urgency so it would be helpful if you could give the receptionist a brief outline of the problem as this will help us prioritise your call appropriately. Please ensure we have your correct telephone number.
Alternatively, you can use the links on our homepage to get further advice or to contact the doctors online. We aim to reply by the next working day.
If you have consented to contact via your mobile, we will send you a text reminder the day before your appointment.
Booking in on arrival:
You can either book in with the team at Reception or use the automated booking-in screen on the wall opposite the door as you enter the surgery.
MORE EVENING AND SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE NOW!
There are now extra routine appointments available in the evening, making it easier for you to get an appointment at a time to suit you.
The practice offers:
A virtual clinical pharmacist service.
This is a telephone appointment for patients who: need to speak to a pharmacist regarding a medication issue; but don’t need to come to the surgery. The pharmacists are able to prescribe and organise prescriptions electronically.
A virtual musculoskeletal (MSK) service
This is a telephone appointment for patients who need to speak to an advanced physiotherapist regarding muscle and joint problems. They will issue advice and where appropriate arrange a follow up.
For either of the above please speak to the reception team for further information on how to book one of these appointments.
Saturday morning face to face appointments
There are now Saturday morning routine appointments from 9-12pm available through our extended access service at:
Rutland Lodge Medical Practice, Scott Hall Road, Leeds, LS7 3DR
This increased availability is an extension of the services offered by your practice and is provided by a range of local clinicians including GPs, nurses and health care assistants.
Please note, this is not a walk-in service – you still need to make an appointment via your own GP practice. Extended Access appointments are for routine general practice issues and not for urgent care. If your practice is closed and you are unwell please call NHS 111.
